Our mission is to preserve the history of Oakham, Massachusetts, through the collection of artifacts, data, and personal histories, and to encourage residents, visitors, and students to make use of the items for research and personal enrichment.
Monthly meetings are held every third Tuesday at 7 p.m. with a work meeting on the first Thursday at 10 a.m. Here are upcoming events for 2024:
*MUSEUM OPEN HOUSES* May 5, May 26, and May 27 from 1-4 p.m. FREE admission! *HISTORY OF THE OAKHAM FIRE & POLICE DEPARTMENTS* May 5 - Special presentation by Fire Chief Tim Howe and Police Chief Fred Gehring at 2 p.m. There will be police vehicles, Oakham's newest and older fire trucks, and a new police drone! Click HERE for flyer! *HISTORY OF THE OAKHAM CENTER SCHOOL* May 26 - Join us for Donna Neylon's talk about the history of the Oakham Center School at 2 p.m. Hear how the members of the School Building Committee in the mid-1970s managed to pick the location of the new school, choose an architect, and get the building designed and approved at a special town meeting, all in less than a year! *MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION* May 27 - Come and enjoy coffee and donuts with us in front of the Oakham Congregational Church at 9 a.m. |
